Wheel had its best year; appreciation shown

As chairperson for the Fruit and Cake Wheel at the recent Rescue Hose Co. Carnival, I thank everyone for assisting in making this the most successful year ever. The financial support for our local Fire, Rescue and Emergency Service will be in excess of $4,500.

Donations of baked goods included, cakes, pies, whoopee pies, brownies, packs of cookies and others were greatly appreciated. The Greencastle Lioness Club and Farm Women's Group 14 supported this effort as Community Service Projects.

Local businesses providing support included: Tracey's Orchard, Food Lion store, Sunnyway Foods and Lehman's Egg Service.

Finally, a special thank you, to all the volunteers who manned the stand each evening and to the customers who return year after year.
