G-A sails in Boyd tourney The Greencastle-Antrim Little League 8-9-10 Clarence Boyd Tournament (CBT) team bats remained hot in wins on Saturday and Monday. Greencastle belted 24 hits Saturday in a 20-13 victory over Newville in pool play. Gene Byers was perfect at the plate going 5-for-5 with two doubles and got the win on the mound. Jack Alexander and Wayne Kline both added four hits and Jared Spoonhour and Josiah Hissong added three each. Alexander and Matt Potter doubled and Collin Blubaugh recorded a save for Greencastle. Monday night, Greencastle used 13 hits and 13 walks over four innings to defeat South Hanover 19-9 and earn a spot in Clarence Boyd double elimination district play. Spencer Meyers, Byers (double), Alexander and Spoonhour had two hits each and Casey Hoover sealed the Greencastle win with a 3 RBI double in the bottom of the fourth. Meyers got the win and Kline picked up the same on the mound. Greencastle continues action in the first round of district play. |
