Police reports Greencastle Borough Police recently released the following incident reports: Leon Milton Springs Jr., 48, 264 E. Franklin St., was arrested for public drunkenness, making terroristic threats, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct for an incident at 1:49 a.m. July 13. AGreencastle police officer, on routine patrol, saw Springs walking eastbound on Spruce Lane near South Carlisle Street. Springs had an unsteady gait, nearly falling down. The officer detected a distinct odor of alcohol and administered a PBT, with a result of .12 percent. While being arrested, Springs allegedly said, "I'm coming to get you. You better hope I don't see you outside of this place." He was processed at Greencastle Police Department and arraigned before Judge Hawbaker. Four suspects face charges following a fight at the Rescue Hose Company Fireman's Carnival at 8:33 p.m. July 18. The incident took place on the carnival grounds at 407 S. Washington St. An officer on foot patrol was dispatched to a food stand on a report of a fight. It had broken up by the time he arrived. The victim, Paul James Kraiss of Chambersburg, was holding a bag of ice to his left eye. He stated he was punched by a male juvenile and knocked out. Three other men allegedly engaged in fighting after seeing Kraiss attacked. They were Robert James Stratton, Mercersburg; Shane Andrew Klouser, 11810 Buck Run Road; and Thomas Eugene Hartmire, Williamson. The four were charged with disorderly conduct. Kraiss was transported to Chambersburg Hospital by personal vehicle. Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264- 5161.): Crime Solvers of Franklin County is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons involved in the theft of aluminum wheels from Blubaugh's Tire and Wheel, 11755 Buchanan Trail E. Between June 1 and 5, 60-70 wheels were stolen from a fenced area behind the business. The reward is up to $2000. Anyone with information should call 263-3000. The line is open 24 hours and the call may be anonymous. Two males and two females entered the residence of David Hines, 42, 3598 Coseytown Road, while he was asleep inside, and stole his wallet and a 2005 Phillips 26-inch TV. Hines awoke and chased them from the scene. The suspects fled in a dark-colored SUV with Maryland registration. The burglary and theft occurred at 5 a.m. July 19. One of the suspects was a known 25-year-old male, but he was not identified in the police report. Clint Douglas Reid, 26, Greencastle, lost control of his vehicle on Grindstone Hill Road at 12:04 p.m. July 16. He was slightly injured, but because he was wearing a helmet, severe head injuries were prevented, according to police. Thomas Robert Paci-Funk, 34, Greencastle, allegedly threw eight bags of garbage into the dumpster of Lizzy's Ice Cream without permission. The theft of services occurred July 13 or 14. No injury resulted in a traffic collision at 1:03 a.m. July 16 on northbound Interstate 81 near Milepost 2. Richard Blair Snodgrass, Montgomery, driving a 2000 Nissan Altima, was hit in the left rear bumper. He lost control and spun into the center median. The vehicle that struck him and fled was possibly a truck tractor or SUV, white in color. The Nissan was towed. Someone flattened two tires on a vehicle belonging to Andrew Bean, 3652 Brook St., between 5:10 p.m. July 20 and 8:30 a.m. July 21. Damage was approximately $250. Bean was also the victim of an attempted burglary July 4 when someone cut a screen at his residence at 3:27 a.m. Apassenger suffered minor injuries when the driver of the car she was riding in failed to stop at a stop sign. Allegedly B. Louise Keller, Waynesboro, driving a 2000 Chevrolet Prizm, was southbound on Walter Avenue and traveled through the intersection of Williamson Avenue. Gary Zook, Greencastle, eastbound in a 1993 Jeep Cherokee, struck her right side, injuring Doris Flohr, Waynesboro. The accident occurred at 9:35 a.m. July 21. Police continue to investigate a two-vehicle crash at 3:53 p.m. July 20 on I-81 southbound. Lorile E. Eberly, 50, Greencastle, driving a 1999 Cadillac Escalade, was beginning to pass a 2000 Freightliner, driven by Youssef Jibril, 38, Mesa, Ariz. She experienced a diabetic attack, swerved and struck the left side of the trailer, spun and came to rest in the right lane. Jibril pulled onto the right shoulder. The Greencastle Rescue Hose Company and fire police provided assistance while the right lane was cleared and traffic resumed in that lane after an hour. The Cadillac was towed. Eberly was transported to Chambersburg Hospital, evaluated and released. |
