Floyd S. Starliper Floyd S. "Spirdie" Starliper, 76, of 76 Mason Road, Greencastle, died at 9 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2007 in his home. Born Dec. 26, 1930 in Greencastle, he was the son of the late Spirdie W. and Blanche M. (Gearhart) Starliper. He and his wife, Helen N. (Wolford) Starliper were married July 31, 1954 in Greencastle. Mr. Starliper retired in 1987 after over 36 years of employment from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, where he worked as a motor vehicle inspector. He was a Deputy Game Protector with the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 28 years. He was a member of the Ebenezer "Guitners" United Brethren Church of Greencastle. He was a 1948 graduate of the Greencastle High School. Mr. Starliper was a life member of the Greencastle Rescue Hose Company No. 1 and Greencastle Rescue Hose Company No. 1 Ambulance Squad. He was a member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Company No. 8 and the Mount Pisgah Lodge No. 443 F.& A.M. of Greencastle. He enjoyed boating and crabbing with his son. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Rick A. Starliper of Drayden, Md.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Lewis of Hagerstown, Md. and Helen Gontz of Chambersburg; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene Starliper, Paul Starliper, Clayton Starliper and an infant brother; and three sisters, Pauline Bingaman, Kathleen Fisher and Lily Shindle. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21 at the Brown's Mill Cemetery with Rev. Richard Mose officiating. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice Of The Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M.
