Juniata volleyball recognized by House

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Juniata College women's volleyball team has earned another honor as a result of the team's NCAA Division III National Championship as the United States House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed Congressman Bill Shuster's resolution to honor the team on May 14.

Jessica Ritchey of Greencastle is a member of the national champion team.

"Today, the House voted to honor the players of the Juniata College women's volleyball team for their extraordinary display of sportsmanship, teamwork and perseverance," Shuster said. "I am proud to have been able to play a small role in commemorating their outstanding championship season. They certainly deserve it."

"We are pleased and grateful that Congressman Shuster is honoring our women's volleyball team and Coach Larry Bock with this resolution," said Thomas R. Kepple Jr., the President of Juniata College. "This group of hard-working studentathletes exemplify the values that come from participating at a high level in college athletics.

"Today's vote places the team's victorious season in the history books of the House of Representatives," Shuster added. "Their hard work will always be remembered."

Congressman Shuster recognized each member of the Juniata women's volleyball team.
