Briggs named to All-Conference Team

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - Greencastle native Cory Briggs has been named to the American Southwest Conference All- Conference Honorable Mention Baseball Team.

Briggs, a freshman shortstop at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark., started in 38 games as a true freshman and hit .308. The 6- foot, 185-pounder who played at Greencastle-Antrim High School is tied for second on the team with four home runs. Briggs is third on the team in doubles (7) and fifth in RBI (28) and hits (45). He has 12 multiple-hit games and 9 multiple RBI games.

His best performance came against Mississippi College when he hit the game-winning home run and finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs.
