Paul H. Berger

Paul H. Berger, 78 of 3513 Leitersburg Road, Waynesboro, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, June 7, 2007 in his home.

Born March 22, 1929 in Antrim Township, he was the son of the late Denton and Edith (Oberholzer) Berger.

In his earlier years he worked at the former Fulton Gsell Excavating, Waynesboro, and then for 34 years he worked for Lee R. Hamner Excavating, Waynesboro. He last was employed for 10 years at Callas Construction Co., Hagerstown, Md.

Mr. Berger attended Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church near Waynesboro.

He enjoyed walking, gardening, hunting and being with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He and his wife, Gail L. (Overcash) Berger were married Aug. 5, 1950 in Hagerstown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandra K. Harmon of Willingboro, N.J. and Sharon A. Mc- Cartney of Chambersburg; two sons, Dennis R. Berger and David M. Berger, both of Waynesboro; three sisters, Anna Rock of Chambersburg, Edith Miller and Beulah Harshman, both of Greencastle; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, William Berger, Ralph Berger, Tab Berger and Roy Berger; and four sisters, Edith Bingaman, Alice Grosh, Helen Gsell and Frances Kell.

Services were held the morning of Monday, June 11, in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Blaine Lougheed officiating.

Burial was in the Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
