Window decorating contest to again be part of OHW

The Window Decoarting Contest, a popular event from past Old Home Weeks, will be returning as part of the 36th Triennial Old Home Week celebration in August.

Downtown businesses (along Baltimore and Carlisle streets) will have their storefront windows decorated, either by the business owners themselves, or various organizations.

There are five categories as follows: 1 - clothing; 2 - furniture, dishes and other household items; 3 - memorabilia (booklets, papers, scrapbooks and other collectibles); 4 - toys; 5 - war-related items (from or about the French and Indian War, the Revolution, the Civil War, World War One and World War Two).

The displays will be judged, with cash prizes being awarded. Judging will take place at 9 a.m. Aug 4. Participants must register by July 27. Registration forms, and a list of participating businesses, are available from the Greencastle Antrim Chamber of Commerce.

For information contact Bill Gour, the chairman of the Window Decoarting Contest Committee, at 597-4610 or bill@greencastlepachamber. org
