Salem Ridge to host 'Spiritual Awakening'

SHAMPA RICE
Salem Ridge Mennonite Church, 441 Pensinger Road, invites the public to a conference May 5 and 6 with the theme "Spiritual Awakening," with guest speaker Shampa Rice.

Shampa is director of Iris India which is under the direction of Rolland and Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries.

Shampa Rice was born and raised in India. Shampa and her family lived in a tiny two-room bustee (slum) in central Calcutta. Life was extremely difficult in every way. Then missionary, Mark Bluntain, opened an excellent Christian school and Shampa was in one of its first classes. Through the faith and perseverance, of her Godly mother, and the influence of Mark Bluntain, Shampa developed a strong trust in Jesus early in life.

Jen Delgado of World Harvest Outreach will lead worship at these events to be held at Salem Ridge at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5 and at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 6. A noon meal will be served on Sunday.

For information, call the church at 597-8426 or e-mail salemrmc@ earthlink.net
