Crider becomes PSP station commander Lieutenant Gerald B. Smith, Chambersburg Station Commander, retired April 20 from the Pennsylvania State Police. His replacement, Lieutenant Jacob M. Crider, became the new Station Commander for the Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg Station on April 21. Lieutenant Crider transferred from Troop H, Harrisburg Headquarters, where he served as the Patrol Section Commander. Lieutenant Crider, a 25-year Pennsylvania State Police veteran, served at the Chambersburg Station as a Trooper and Corporal from 1984 through 1993. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1997, and commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant in 1999. Lieutenant Crider is a native of Lurgan Township, Franklin County. He is a 1977 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and a 1981 graduate of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Lieutenant Crider resides in the Shippensburg area with his wife, 19-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter. |
