Concert association seeking subscribers

CHAMBERSBURG - For the past 67 years The Chambersburg Community Concert Association (CCCA) has continued its mission "to build and maintain a permanent concert audience; to cultivate interest in good music; and to encourage the live performance of music by qualified artists."

On Aug. 14, the CCCA kicked off its 2006-2007 Membership Drive toward the presentation of four concerts in Chambersburg. These will be The Dukes of Dixieland, pianist Eric Himy, the Time for Three string ensemble and the Capitol Quartet, saxophonists. All of these performances are held in the Chambersburg Area Senior High School Auditorium.

An adult single subscription ticket for all four concerts is $35. There are also subscription rates for students, families, patrons, benefactors and underwriters. All of these subscriptions not only cover admission to the concerts in

Chambersburg, but also reciprocal admission to other concerts in Gettysburg, Waynesboro, Hagerstown and Westminster - a total of 20 concerts for one subscription. Two of the concerts in Chambersburg will feature Masters Sessions, where local school students can meet with and learn from the artists at no cost to the students.

This year CCCA is developing an Endowment Fund. Lillian S. Shively, a member of CCCA for 60 years, and board member, said, "The Board is taking positive steps to insure that our community continues to benefit from CCCA for future generations. One of these steps is to build an Endowment Fund which will provide financial resources to continue this legacy."

For information regarding ticket prices, concert information or Endowment Fund, call Shirley Jones, president at 263-3030 or Gretchen Mackey, membership secretary, at 264-7025.
