Learn to be conformed by God
By PASTOR GUY CAMP

Bob Dylan has reminded us that "These times they are a changin'." Everything around has gone through change and we change also. We've noticed that

our town and township have been changing. Farmer's fields are no longer fields, but homes and people. New stores and companies are coming in to be with us. Others have discovered the richness of what we have known for a long time - that there's something special here. Our houses and properites have to be kept up, grass mowed, when it has water to grow, new paint added, rooms and furnishings changing. Old chairs and tables are beginning to fall apart and we're looking for new, or different, or we sometimes say, "We just didn't use that any more".

The writer of Ecclesiates also reminds us that "There's an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:

. ." (The Message translation) The question is, "Are we in harmony with God or are we going about in out own selfish realm?" Too often we consider ourselves, rather that the needs, not wants, of others. We really need to ask "What would God have me to do now?" We need to treat others as God has already treated us. That's not easy or WE want to get involved and too often leave God and God's ways to the side. How do we treat our money, it really is God's, you know; how do we manage our time, it really is God's you know; how do we manage our friendships and relationships, they really are God's people, you know.

Leonard Sweet in his book "Quantum Spirituality" says that when anything happens anywhere, even if it be a thought it affects the entire world or universe. Can we act and be as it is the reality; for it is, you know.

Ecclesiastes also reminds us: "I've also concluded that whatever God does, that's the way it's going to be, always. No addition, no subtraction. God's done it and that's it. That's so we'll quit asking questions and simply worship in holy fear." Oh, if we could only live as if we really believed that God was in charge and not we.

These times, they are a changin', God doesn't, but we must. We must learn to be conformed to Him and His ways, not ours, really. Let's live and act as if God really does matter in all we say and do. May God bless you as you live in his desire and will and his world as he has desired it. Amen.
