Bank officials of The First National Bank of Mercersburg are pleased to announce that Andrew M. Petzar has joined the bank's Management Trainee Program. Petzar graduated in August 2006 with a bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University. He had a double major in finance and economics. During his college career, he received the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of Financial Executives International Outstanding Award and the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties Student Award. The management trainee program is structured to gain experience on how each area of the bank fits into a successful organization. During the one-year program he will rotate through key business areas, work on special projects to gain valuable work experience, participate in community and leadership activities, work directly with senior executives, receive career guidance through individual development planning and network with customers, staff and Board of Directors. At the successful conclusion of the program, a management role will be defined that will allow him to contribute to the ongoing challenges and opportunities within the organization.
Holly Gindlesperger, a nurse at Menno Haven Penn Hall, was recently named the 2006 Elaine S. Shepphard Memorial Scholarship receipient. The $1,000 award is given annually and can be used at school of Gindlesperger's choice, including books or childcare, and is given directly to the educational institution or provider of childcare to help with expenses of continuing her nursing career. Gindlesperger began her Menno Haven employment in the Dietary department in 2003 while attending the Chambersburg Area High School. Her high school studies included the college preparatory curriculum as well as the Allied Health Career program at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center. Gindlesperger obtained her certified Nursing Assistant training through the Allied Health- Care program and became a certified Nursing Assistant in October of 2004. She transferred from the dietary department to the Penn Hall Nursing department in November of 2004. Today, Gindlesperger is enrolled in the registered nursing associate degree program at the Penn State, Mont Alto campus. She plans to graduate in spring of 2007.
Chambersburg Hospital The Medical Library Association presented Deb R. Miller, Education Resource Specialist at Chambersburg Hospital, the Scroll of Exemplary Service Award for 2006. Miller was presented with the award for her exemplary service and her participation in activities that made a difference. She has been president of the Central Pennsylvania Health Science Library Association and served on a national award committee for the Medical Library Association for two years, being chair person for one year. She also was credentialed as a senior member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals last September by the Medical Library Association.
Waynesboro Hospital Melissa Dubrow has joined Waynesboro Hospital as Laboratory Manager. Dubrow received her first bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University in biology. She also received a second bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University, in the area of medical technology. She is continuing her education at the University of Florida where she is planning to obtain her master's in business administration. Dubrow is certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and the National Certifying Agency for Laboratory Professionals. First National Bank of Mercersburg The First National Bank of Mercersburg is pleased to announce that Loni A. Bard has assumed the position of Office Manager of the Fort Loudon Community Office located at 92 Path Valley Road. She is responsible for office productivity, customer retention, business development, and meeting the bank's stated goals and objectives, in addition to the overall management of the office.
Hagerstown Trust Hagerstown Trust is pleased to announce that Lynn A. Waite, Commercial Banking Relationship Officer has joined Hagerstown Trust's Franklin County Banking Team. Waite joins Bill Walker, Sr. Vice President, Susan Himes, Commercial Banking Relationship Officer and Amy Murray, Residential Mortgage Officer providing commercial and residential lending solutions to meet the needs of Hagerstown Trust's customers in Franklin County. Hagerstown Trust, an affiliate of Fulton Financial Corporation of Lancaster, plans to open an office this fall in Chambersburg. Waite is a resident of Mc- Connellsburg with her husband and two sons. She is an active member of the community, serving as secretary/treasurer and golf outing coordinator for the Fulton County Chapter of Franklin County Builders Association. She graduated from the Central Atlantic School of Commercial Lending in July of 2002. F&M Trust Paul M. Johnston has joined F&M Trust as assistant vice president and regional market manager for Fulton County. Johnston brings 20 years of banking experience to F&M Trust. He previously worked at the First National Bank of Mc- Connellsburg, most recently as assistant vice president and manager of retail credit. At F&M Trust, Johnston will be responsible for development of new small business and retail customer relationships, directing public relations and community involvement activities, providing leadership for the community offices within the Fulton and Huntingdon County market, and serving customer's financial needs with a variety of services not solely limited to loan and deposit products. The bank is in the process of expanding into Fulton and Huntingdon Counties as a result of the merger of Fulton Bancshares and its subsidiary The Fulton County National Bank & Trust Co. with Franklin Financial Services Corporation. On May 18, the shareholders of Fulton Bancshares overwhelmingly approved the merger with Franklin Financial, holding company of F&M Trust. Bank officials expect the Fulton County National Bank branches to become F&M Trust community offices on July 24, pending regulatory approvals. Johnston is a graduate of the Central Atlantic Intermediate and Advanced Schools of Banking at Bucknell University. He also has completed a variety of banking and financial services courses at Penn State and Wilson College, as well as through the American Institute of Banking (AIB). A McConnellsburg native and resident, Johnston is a founding member of the Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission. He previously served as vice president on the Central Fulton School Board where he was chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee. In addition, Johnston previously served as the past director of the Fulton County Builder's Association and Southern Allegheny Highway Task Force Commission, and was a member of the McConnellsburg Jaycees serving as the club's president for several terms. Fulton Financial Advisors Katherine "K.C." Knowlden, of Fredrick, has been named financial consultant in the Brokerage Division of Fulton Financial Advisors, located at Hagerstown Trust. In this position, she will be responsible for providing investment advice as well as financial planning services, including retirement products and college education and saving plans for Fulton Financial Advisors and its clients. Knowlden comes to Fulton Financial Advisors from Sandy Spring Bank, where she was a financial consultant. Knowlden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing the University of Phoenix. Chambersburg Hospital The American Academy of Wound Management recently announced that Ginger Everhart, DPT, physical therapist at Chambersburg Hospital, has received the designation of Certified Wound Specialist (CWS). This title demonstrates Everhart's exceptional knowledge in wound care and management. To be certified, one must have a minimum of two to five years of experience in the field of wound care. They must pass an intensive national board examination administered by the American Academy of Wound Management. Certified Wound Care specialists are required to attend yearly continuing education courses in order to stay up to date on the latest, most effective treatments and on reimbursement laws, to help assure that their patients are receiving the highest quality of care. Everhart has been a wound care specialist at Chambersburg Hospital for five years. |
