Be a vessel of God's sunshine
By PASTOR LEON YODER Greencastle Church of the Brethren

Psalms 19:1-4 reads, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the world."

I really love sunrises and sunsets. There is just something about them. The way the sky slowly lights up and the earth comes to life. Again in the evening, the sun gradually disappears behind the horizon while coloring the clouds beautiful shades of pink, purple, grey, orange, and many more. I think that sunrises and sunsets

are two of the most beautiful times of the day.

Personally, they speak to me of our Creator. The sunrise reminds me that God has brought me safely through another night and a reminder that even in the darkest moments of our lives, He is always with us, tenderly watching over us. The sunsets are gentle reminders that God has blessed us with another day to live; another day to grow; another day to celebrate and enjoy.

Even as the heavens declare the glory of God; and the skies proclaim the works of his hands, so must each of us be vessels of God's sunshine. Our lives radiating with his love, joy, and peace just might be the sunrise or sunset that someone else needs to see.
