Police reports Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264-5161.): Police are continuing to search for Curtis Burkett, 41, of Mercersburg, who is accused in two criminal homicides occurring around 7:30 to 8:10 p.m. July 28. Police said Burkett is six feet tall, 230 pounds with brown, shoulderlength hair and possibly a goatee. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and an orange Tshirt. Police emphasized that Burkett is possibly armed and dangerous, and is hearing impaired. He was last seen in the Mercersburg area operating an early 1980's Ford F150 pick-up truck with Pennsylvania tags YTC-6282. The truck has a camouflage leafy design, and may have the words Harley Davidson painted on the side, and may also have a bug shield with the words "Bear Man." Police say it is possible that the mirror on the driver's side might be broken and the truck might have been painted another unknown color. Police said they have broadened their search into Maryland and West Virginia as well as counties adjoining western Franklin County. According to the report, authorities in these areas have been assisting with leads and information. Police are asking for the public's help in locating Scott Nathan North, 26, who walked away from work release at Architectural Woodsmiths on Logan Avenue in Shippensburg at 4 p.m. Aug. 2. Police said North is a white male, about six feet tall, weighing about 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said he may be wearing khaki pants and a checkered shirt. He has a number of tattoos, with "COWBOY" on his left forearm, tribal on his right forearm, "T" on his left middle finger, and a goat head on his chest. According to the report, North's last known address was 17291 Path Valley Road in Spring Run. Police said they made a number of unrelated drug arrests in and around Franklin County as a result of joint investigations between the Pennsylvania State Police Vice Unit and FCDTF. The report did not list the ages of any of the suspects listed in the report. According to the report, police charged John Slater Thomas of Arendtsville with delivery of cocaine and criminal use of a communication facility as a result of a May 18 incident in Guilford Township. Police said Thomas is currently incarcerated in the Franklin County Prison. Police reported that they charged Ronald Lacy of Marlowe, W.Va. and Dale "Mike" Mooney of Chambersburg with several counts of delivery of cocaine, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal conspiracy to deliver cocaine as a result of a three-month investigation into cocaine distribution in the Greencastle area. Lacy is currently incarcerated in the Franklin County Prison and Mooney is currently wanted on the charges, police said. Anyone with information about Mooney's whereabouts is asked to contact police. According to the report, police charged Penny Campbell of Greencastle with delivery of marijuana and criminal use of a communication facility as the result of an incident that occurred on March 8 in Antrim Township. Police said Campbell is currently in Franklin County Prison. Police also charged Robert E. Fickes of Fayetteville with delivery of cocaine, delivery of prescription drugs and criminal use of a communication facility as a result of a June 21 incident in Chambersburg Borough and Guilford Township. According to the report, Fickes is currently wanted on the charges and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the state police. State police said they responded to a domestic dispute at 3:33 p.m. July 29 on Hager Road in Peters Township and charged Aimee Sherrell, 27 and James Peratino, 28, both of Greencastle, with harassment after Peratino allegedly grabbed Sherrell by the arm and pulled her hair and Sherrell allegedly struck and scratched Peratino. Police said they accused four people of assault and harassment after an incident that occurred at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 1 at 13881 Molly Pitcher Highway in Antrim Township. Police said Amanda Slunt, 19, of Hagerstown, Md., was the victim of being punched in the face by Dorothy M. Emmons, 35, of Greencastle. Police said Marvin L. High, 49, of Hagerstown, was struck in the face with a tobacco can by Paul F. Smith, 50, also of Hagerstown, and High punched Smith in the face. The report said that Marvin L. High, Jr., 26, also of Hagerstown, was struck in the back with a broom by Emmons, and that Marvin High, Jr. struck Smith in the back with a broom. |
