Charges lodged in Antrim ATV crash A Greencastle woman faces charges in connection with a July 9 ATV accident that resulted in four injuries. Stacey May Newcomer, 33, of 13460 Ridge Road, was charged by Pennsylvania State Police with driving on the wrong side of the road, operating the vehicle without official inspection and registration, permitting unlawful persons to drive a vehicle and endangering the welfare of children, according to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Duane Cunningham. Police said Newcomer allegedly operated an ATV unsafely, causing a crash between two ATVs on July 9 at 6:54 p.m. on McDowell Road, east of Ridge Road. According to charging documents, Newcomer operated a 2000 Suzuki Quadrunner without proper registration or inspection. Reportedly Newcomer's 11-yearold son told police she had permitted him to drive a second ATV on that evening. After leaving their house on Ridge Road, they turned around because of encountering water, reports said. Upon entering McDowell Road, the vehicles crashed, according to police. Both drivers were thrown from the ATVs. Three other juveniles were passengers on the vehicles and were thrown during the incident. |
