Police reports

Greencastle Borough Police recently released the following incident reports:

Greencastle police reported Sandra Jane Richer, 42, of Greencastle was charged with forgery and criminal attempt for allegedly altering a prescription of Endocet and fradulently obtaining a controlled substance at 3:56 p.m. July 13.

According to Greencastle police, a vehicle operated by Ceasar Martinez, 25, of Chambersburg, went out of control at 2:41 p.m. July 11 on South Antrim Way near Nova Street when it allegedly attempted to pass in a no passing zone and struck the median while exceeding the speed limit. The vehicle flipped and landed in a ditch, police said. Two PennDOT signs were destroyed.

Greencastle police reported three vehicles were involved in an accident June 23 at the intersection of South Antrim Way and West Baltimore Street. Police reported a vehicle driven by Melinda Pine, 36, of Mercersburg was struck by behind by a vehicle operated by Shanna Myers, 28, of Mercersburg, while in the turning lane on South Antrim Way. The force pushed Pine's vehicle into an unidentified pick-up truck.

Greencastle police investigated three non-reportable accidents recently at the following locations and times: July 7, 11:25 a.m., 212 North Antrim Way; July 17, 11:51 a.m., Williamsport Pike; July 18, 5:21 p.m. in the Sheetz parking lot.

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264- 5161.):

Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Rouzerville man with flight to avoid apprehension after he allegedly ran from two Franklin County Probation officers July 17 in Antrim Township. Police said the officers approached Joshua Michael Fink, 25, around 3 p.m. to take him into custody for probation violations and he fled on foot. The charges of flight to avoid apprehension were filed with Magisterial District Judge Duane Cunningham.

Pennsylvania State Police and bystanders assisted in corralling two escaped horses running across both lanes of Interstate 81 near the Maryland state line in Antrim Township Friday afternoon. Police reported the horses had escaped from a nearby farm. Traffic was stalled for about an hour during the attempts to control the horses. The horses were safely returned to the farm.

Minor injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident July 18 at 5:25 p.m. at 3421 Clayhill Road in Quincy Township. Police said an eastbound 1996 Chevrolet 1500 truck driven by Keith Stauffer of Greencastle slid across the center line on a turn and struck a 2005 Ford F150 truck driven by Derek Small of Waynesboro. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and both trucks sustained major damage. Police said they filed charges against Stauffer for driving at safe speed.

Police reported a vehicle driven by Ryan Leo Bricker, 21, of Chambersburg, west on Kauffman Road in Antrim Township lost its air brakes and struck the rear of a PennDOT dump truck operated by Russell L. Chilcote, 46, of St. Thomas. Bricker was taken to the Chambersburg Hospital for treatment of minor injuries following the July 19 1:30 p.m. accident, according to police.

Someone burglarized Antrim Diesel, 47 Commerce Ave., in Antrim Township between 6 p.m. July 20 and 11:30 a.m. July 21. Three locks valued at $5 were cut from two storage connexs. Three used aluminum transmission covers were taken, according to police.

Thefts from two vehicles were reported by police at 47 Commerce Ave. in Antrim Township bettween 5:30 p.m. July 20 and 11:30 a.m. July 21. Police said a Ford inner cooler was taken from a Ford F-250 owned by Adam Ambrose, 18, of Greencastle, and a radiator and air cooler was taken from a Dodge Ram 2500 owned by Alan Lehman, 21, of Shady Grove.

Police reported the residence of Jacqueline Korrell, 15846 Pennsylvania Ave., in Antrim Township was entered through a window between 1:45 and 2 a.m. July 20. The burglars were scared by the victim's dog barking and left by the side door.

State police reported a business computer owned by James Haney IV of Greencastle was stolen and the victim's personal information accessed and used illegally to open an account. The identity theft was reported between Jan. 1 and Feb. 1.

A latch to a storage trailer was damaged at Bowman Rentals, 4108 Coseytown Road in Antrim Township between 6 p.m. July 21 and noon July 22. Damage was estimated at $40, according to police.

Police said someone stole $100 from a purse belonging to Misty Diana Dawn Phillips of Greencastle, at 2 p.m. July 15 at the Subway at 10830 John Wayne Drive in Antrim Township.

At 3:10 p.m. July 16, someone pumped gas and left without paying from the BP Gas station at 10835 John Wayne Drive in Antrim Township, according to police.

Police said Ronald Allen Stumbers, 49, of Wilmington, Del., was allegedly drunk in public on July 16 near the Subway/Wash House at 10830 John Wayne Drive in Antrim Township.

At 10:30 p.m. July 17, someone damaged the landscaping at McDonald's at 721 Buchanan Trail West in Antrim Township.

Police said they issued a summary citation to Pamela Joanne Barr, 38, of 441 West Antietam St., Hagerstown, Md., for allegedly providing cigarettes to a 14year-old male from Antrim Township at 7322 Angle Road in Antrim Township at 3 p.m. July 17.

Pennsylvania State Police said they will continue conducting driving under the influence sobriety checkpoints throughout July and roving DUI patrols will be utilized throughout 2006.
