Trolley rides

Something new to Greencastle-Antrim’s Heritage Christmas will roll Saturday, Dec. 10. Trolley rides, hosted by Russ and Dodi Clever, also known as Two Nuts and a Bolt, will  depart from the parking lot of the Greencastle Church of the Brethren, 36 S. Carlisle St. from 11 to 3 p.m. on the half hour.
The cost of the ride is $2 per person. The ride will last approximately 20 minutes.
The Clevers will share Greencastle trolley history and other details of Greencastle's past along the way. There might even be some entertaining remarks!  
Tickets will be purchased on a first-come basis and will go on sale at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the church. The trolley will accommodate 20 people on each ride.
“This is a first time event that highlights local transportation heritage and our committee is anxious to see the public response,” said Joel Fridgen, Greencastle-Antrim Chamber oif Commerce executive director.
To add to the Heritage Christmas flabor Christmas music will fill the square from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as people enjoy Christmas shopping and dining in Greencastle-Antrim.

Home tour

The 2011 Heritage Christmas Home Tour will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 and features homes that were built from the 1700s to 1977 and a church that was officially established in 1882.
Tickets are $12 in advance and are available during normal business hours at Carl's Drug Store, at the Greencastle-Chamber of Commerce Chamber office at 217 E. Baltimore St. and from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at the Holiday House, which is located on the northwest corner of the square (by Tower Bank). Remaining tickets are $15 the day of the tour at the Holiday House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“The home tour committee did a wonderful job in featuring four homes and a church that are unique and historic,” said Misty Stenger, chairperson of Heritage Christmas.
“We hope people will take advantage of the opportunity to tour them.”
There are 300 tickets available this year.
