Brindle said the roadway was 44 feet wide and seven feet off center for the 80-foot right of way. Because DEP wanted runoff to be contained in the ROW, the swale and position of the road had been adjusted to accomodate that.
Antrim's engineering firm, Martin and Martin, had reviewed the proposal and recommended against approving the request. The firm suggested future problems could arise as the land along the road was developed, while currently no property was being affected by the road placement in the unimproved acreage. A solution could be a wider easement to manage the storm water. The board unanimously denied the request.
An idea by roadmaster Paul Minnich concerning Coseytown Road received a cool reception. The road has seen accelerated wear and tear due to heavy trucks hauling debris to a dump site. Minnich looked into the cost of repairing the edges from Scarhill Road to Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church. With Antrim supplying labor the expense would be $60,000; if the paving contractor did it all the price was $150,000. Administrator Brad Graham reported that the concept was the road would settle over the winter and be ready for paving in the spring. Because the project was not in the 2009 budget, the supervisors decided to wait.
Solicitor John Lisko notified the board that JerrDan was going to court in its property tax assessment appeal against the Greencastle-Antrim School District. Since Antrim did not levy any mills, he didn't feel the need to get involved in the proceedings. The board agreed.
