A Volunteer Screening Fair will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6 in the Greencastle-Antrim Elementary School gym.
The school board has a school volunteers policy to protect students in school during activities. In addition, in an effort to maintain the safest possible environment for the students, the district has decided to update its parent lunch policy. Effective immediately only those adults with an approved G-ASD volunteer status will be permitted into the cafeterias.
The district policy requires volunteers to go through state and federal screenings and complete a tuberculosis examination.
At the one-day activity all volunteers will complete the necessary paperwork and  a tuberculosis test. G-ASD has arranged to cover the cost of the tuberculosis test, which will be given by Summit Health. A nurse will be on duty to read the tuberculosis test from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 in the elementary school office.
Once volunteers have gone through the screening process, those who volunteer once a year do not have to go through the process again.
Clearance paperwork is available in all school building offices
Those interested are asked to call 597-3226, ext. 30517.
